We now have an exciting opportunity for an Arts and Cultural Officer to join our agile team and innovative ecosystem of experts. Reporting to the Manager Arts Culture and Library Services, you will be primarily responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Council's School of Arts Facility, along with the planning and delivering of arts and cultural initiatives throughout Tenterfield Shire.

As Arts and Cultural Officer, you will also manage the front-line operation of the Museum, Cinema and Theatre, which include programming, promotion, "bump in/out" film and performance selection and presentation. You will be responsible for reporting and overseeing the statistical and performance reporting of retail cinema, theatre, museum and commodity sales, tally sales and admissions and the competent management and balance of sales and cash floats. 

You will not do all this creative and operational work alone! You will also have the opportunity to mentor a team of volunteers and support staff and develop their work roster.

You will receive an attractive remuneration circa $63,457.68 – $64,452.96 (negotiable on qualifications, skills and experience) inclusive of super.

What we need from you

We are now looking for an adaptable and resilient team player who is agile in their approach and can show initiative and think outside the box. You will possess demonstrated experience working in facilities and events management and know public art, art engagement and cultural practices. Although not essential, qualifications in event management or equivalent are highly desirable.

This opportunity will require that you work very closely with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders and the overall community to develop productive working relationships. You will also create productive working relationships with Elders and the overall community. As such, you will have excellent interpersonal skills as well as strong written and verbal communication. You will also have the ability to supervise and lead team members, contractors, volunteers and consultants.

Before commencing work with us, you will need to undergo a Criminal History Check and a Working with Children's Check.
