Join our ecosystem of experts

We now have an exciting opportunity for a Community Development Officer to join our agile ecosystem of specialists. Reporting to the Chief Executive, you will be primarily responsible for planning, developing, coordinating, implementing and evaluating a range of community/social initiatives. You will also work across the Tenterfield Shire Community Council to provide high-level Community Development expertise. 

You will also research and prepare funding submissions to apply for grants from external agencies and oversee the management of allocated funds and budgets received by the Council from grants submissions and independent funding bodies.

What we need from you

We are now looking for a highly empathetic and supportive individual who is well connected and has the community at heart. You will be self-motivating and proactive, have demonstrated experience in social services and the skills to promote the culture of Indigenous communities throughout the Tenterfield Shire.

It is paramount that you are a resilient team player with excellent interpersonal skills and the proven ability to develop and foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You will also have the ability to develop reports (e.g., reconciliation action plan) and strong written and verbal communication skills.

Although not essential, tertiary qualifications in Social Sciences, Community Development, or equivalent and local government experience are highly desirable.

Before commencing work with us, you will need to undergo a Criminal History Check and a Working with Children's Check.
