We now have an exciting opportunity for a Manager Arts Culture and Library Services to join our innovative ecosystem of specialists. Reporting to the Chief Executive, you will be responsible for providing overall management of the functional areas of arts, culture and library services, including budget oversight and facility and event management. You will also be working alongside the Managers Group to plan the overall strategic direction of the Council.

As Manager Arts Culture and Library Services, you will ensure that the Tenterfield Shire Council websites are maintained and developed to meet the evolving needs of the functional areas and the community. You will also be a custodian of the School of Arts, where Henry Parkes, the father of federation, delivered his famous Tenterfield Oration in 1889 that instigated the conference of 1890 and the Constitutional Convention in 1891, the first of a series of meetings that led to the federation of Australia.

What we need from you

We are now looking for an enthusiastic and innovative team player who has strong leadership skills and demonstrated experience in managing a range of libraries, arts and cultural centres. You will also possess a degree in Arts, Library/Information Science, or a relevant field. 

As you will have 12 direct reports in this role, it is paramount that you have Human Resources and people management skills.

This opportunity will require that you be proactive and work very closely with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders and the overall community to write comprehensive reports and develop productive working relationships. As such, you will have excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to build strong relationships and effective negotiation skills. You will also need to have advanced computer skills as well as strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to write reports in a detailed and professional manner. 

Before commencing work with us, you will need to undergo a Criminal History Check and a Working with Children's Check.
