About the Opportunity

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Events Manager / Planner to lead a strong motivated team of tourism professionals at a first-class resort. 

This role will see you leading a successful team and partnering with clients to create tailored events perfect for their needs.

You will have the opportunity to oversee a team of 4 and manage roughly 100 weddings and numerous other events and functions each year.

You key responsibilities will include:

  • Taking overall accountability for group & event project decisions;
  • Ensuring effective liaison with all operational departments regarding groups and events;
  • Understanding clients challenges and providing timely and effective solutions; and
  • Arranging and coordinating services such as conference facilities, catering audio-visual equipment, accommodation, transport and social events for participants

To be successful in this role you will have proven hospitality management experience within a similar role.

You'll have a strong customer service focus, along with great people management skills, excellent personal presentation, and a professional demeanour, to enable you to deliver an exceptional service to a high standard.

You will need strong communication skills along with a friendly, helpful and patient attitude. You will have a strong work ethic, inspiring team members to meet and exceed team goals including key performance measures.

Most importantly, you will be a positive and professional person with a can-do attitude.
