We have a Victorian team of experts specialising in end-to-end delivery of high-end roofing and cladding. To keep up with the demand and growth of the Victorian market, we are now looking for an experienced Operations Manager to join our team in Sunshine, VIC. Although this role will be primarily office-based, there will be times where you will be required to travel.
Join our dedicated team of specialists
Working alongside the General Manager and a team of experts, you will primarily be responsible for overseeing the Victorian team's day-to-day operations and project management at ARC. Although this role will be primarily office-based, there will be times where you will be required to travel.
More specifically, your core duties will include (but not be limited to):
- Understanding design and construction contracts and design responsibilities, as well as prototypes, mockups, testing for facades and roofs;
- Familiarising with standard conditions of subcontracts including LD's, date of practical completion, contract security, progress claim, offsite materials and deposits;
- Driving procurement of materials, fabrication, managing all facets of scheduling/programming of deliverables of individual tasks identified in the project;
- Managing stakeholders including Builders, Architects and Sub-contractors and responding to all communication via email and web portals such as Aconex and Procore; and
- You will be conducting sub-contractor tenders to get the best market price where third parties will work for ARC.
You will also attend site visits as frequently as necessary to oversee, appoint and ensure the Site Manager and sub-contractors are tracking to the agreed project schedule and allocated hours.
Our ideal candidate
We are looking for an individual who is a strong leader and can effectively manage a team of people. You will have experience working in a trade (primarily in roofing or cladding) and within the construction industry in a leadership role. You must have a firm grasp of executing day-to-day operations within a construction business.
To be successful, you will have strong project management skills and the ability to manage end-to-end roofing and cladding projects from development through to completion.
You will be an avid problem-solver with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to negotiate and actively communicate with all levels of the business and stakeholders, such as architects, project managers and estimators.
