Anyinginyi Health Aboriginal Corporation (AHAC) is a multi-disciplinary organisation which provides primary health care services to the Aboriginal people of Tennant Creek and the surrounding Barkly region.

We consist of four different sections (Health Centre, Corporate Services, Public Health Unit, and Piliyintinji-Ki Stronger Families) which allows them to have a holistic approach to health ensuring that clients' physical and emotional health and wellbeing is given the utmost priority.

Anyinginyi's purpose is to be a provider of high quality holistic primary health care services focusing on the Aboriginal communities of the Barkly region in a culturally responsive way. 

Are you a Public Health Manager who is looking to advance your career with an organisation dedicated to 'Closing the Gap' in Aboriginal health within remote Australia? AHAC are seeking a full-time Public Health Executive Manager who is looking for a new challenge in this stunning Australian outback location helping us bring our vision to life.

How you'll make a difference

As a member of the Anyinginyi Executive Leadership Team and reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this position will see you manage the staff and resources of the Public Health Section, to ensure a high standard of program delivery in a culturally responsive manner.

You will work closely with fellow Executive Managers in providing a holistic model of care for Anyinginyi clients, monitoring ill health and social determents of health to implement public health and health promotion strategies.

Some of your core duties will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Manage and oversee the organisation’s public health services including overseeing high-quality health promotion materials for general health promotion, eye health, nutrition, parenting support, smoking cessation and sexual health programs;
  • Train, mentor and develop staff to produce high-quality, culturally responsive health promotion materials and deliver culturally appropriate public health programs;
  • Communicating Board and senior management decisions to staff and providing the Board and senior management with regular status reports on programs; and
  • Collaborating effectively with funding bodies and other relevant stakeholders in areas associated with Public Health

We are seeking candidates who have extensive Public Health Management experience in the not-for-profit sector and/or Aboriginal community controlled organisations. You will also be in possession of a relevant tertiary qualification in Public Health or similar, with candidates possessing a Masters in Public Health being at a distinct advantage. 

You will have a proven track record of training, mentoring and developing staff with a capacity building approach to management and leadership. Crucial to your success will also be high-level analytical and problem solving skills in addition to preparing high-quality reports for funding bodies. 

Please note: An Ochre Card (NT Working with Children) card and valid Australian Drivers License are mandatory for this role. You must also be fully vaccinated against Covid-19. A current First Aid Certificate would be beneficial however not mandatory as Anyinginyi will provide training each year.

For your hard work you will be rewarded with an attractive salary circa $112,100 - $134,305 (negotiable based on skills and experience) PLUS super! You will also have access to a range of great benefits including:

  • Salary packaging up to $15,899.94 p.a. on everyday expenses at $2,600 for meals and entertainment expenses;
  • Subsidised accommodation for candidates outside of the Barkly region;
  • Flat rate vehicle allowance of $5,000 p.a;
  • Up to $5000 relocation assistance and up to $5000 repatriation assistance;
  • 6 weeks annual leave as well as personal/carer’s leave up to 10 days per year;
  • Study leave can be negotiated;
  • Remote retention allowance of $750;
  • Employee access to Anyinginyi Health Clinic – with free Prescriptions; and
  • Free General Dentistry (Lab work to be paid by employee)
