About CAWLS
CAWLS is a community legal practice with a vibrant and dedicated integrated team. We are committed to providing excellent outcomes for our clients through law reform, legal advice and representation, non-legal wrap-around support, community legal education and outreach. Many of our clients are women who have experienced or are experiencing Domestic and Family Violence.
CAWLS operates two Commonwealth funded Specialist Domestic Violence Units/Health Justice Partnerships based in Alice Springs and Tennant Creek. Through these units, CAWLS provides ongoing education and training for health service providers to identify and respond to disclosures of family violence.
Because of an exciting period of growth for our organisation, CAWLS is now seeking a self-motivated Health Justice Educator to join our small but busy and tight-knit team in Alice Springs, NT. We are looking for a passionate educator to improve access to justice for women in Central Australia and the Barkly by breaking down the barriers between health and legal services.
About the Role
Under the direction of the Manager – Policy & Education, you will provide first-class legal education, training and professional development, both online and in-person, to a range of health service providers in Central Australia and the Barkly region.
Core duties:
- Training Design and Delivery: Plan, design, & implement training for health service providers, including eLearning tools.
- Relationship building: Foster network opportunities to enhance & develop Health Justice Partnerships.
- Evaluation processes: Design, implement, and report on evaluation processes to ensure regularly updated and improved training.

About You
Our organisation is committed to providing high-quality training and education. Experience in creating and delivering training materials and programs will be essential. Your experience will ideally come from within the legal or advocacy space, but we are happy to consider applicants from various backgrounds so long as they can bring a passion for helping women to the role.
You will also need to hold a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or a similar qualification.
You will need strong advocacy skills and excellent communication and problem-solving ability. You must have a passion for the Health Justice Partnership model.
