About Us
Parbery Pastoral is a family founded and owned dairy farm, located in Candelo, in the Bega Valley, NSW. With a new, long-term growth contract signed with Bega Cheese, Parbery Pastoral is a rapidly growing farm, with a current herd of around 700 – 800 dairy cattle. Equipped with the latest, cutting-edge technology, including a state of the art 60-unit rotolactor, automatic cup removers, and individual feeds, Parbery Pastoral are committed to producing high-quality dairy products, whilst upholding the highest standards of herd care.
What you'll do
Parbery Pastoral are seeking a Dairy Hand Calf Rearer to join their close-knit team in Candelo, NSW, on a full-time basis.
Reporting to the Farm Manager, you’ll be responsible for assisting with all aspects of farm and herd management, with a particular focus on milking. In addition to this, you will be assisting with the upkeep of the land, machinery and utilities on the farm.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Monitoring herd health and wellbeing, upholding the highest standards of herd care;
- Upholding workplace health and safety procedures in the milking room;
- Operating machinery such as 4WDs, utes, tractors etc;
- Undertaking artificial insemination of livestock and calf rearing;
- Daily Milking duties; and
- Maintaining cleanliness and food safety standards.
Demonstrated and extensive experience in dairy farming, livestock maintenance or feedlot work is considered essential. Qualifications and relevant experience in artificial insemination would also be highly beneficial, with rotary experience being held in high regard yet not essential.
As this role is not a technical one, it is your hard working attitude, professional presentation, honesty and ability to work effectively in a team environment that will ensure your success. Above all, you’ll have a strong passion for the dairy industry, with a drive to expand your skills and progress your career within this established company. Parbery Pastoral is looking for applicants who genuinely love animals, as they employ a zero-tolerance approach to animal abuse and will only uphold the highest standards of animal welfare.
Please note: It is a requirement of this role that successful candidates hold a current, manual driver’s licence, and ideally have experience driving 4WDs and/or utes.
