About Us

At Touriandi Lodge, our mission is to recognise and meet the expanding needs of elderly care in our community. We aim to be flexible and responsive to each person, preserving independence for our residents. 

Staff work together to provide a comfortable and homelike environment for residents and visitors alike. Each resident has an individualised activity program to ensure their recreational and leisure needs are met in a comprehensive and caring manner. We have a fantastic team of dedicated staff, including a Physiotherapist to help provide specialised care to each person. 

If you want to help us meet the expanding needs of elderly care in our community then there are multiple rewarding opportunities for you as a Carer with the Bingara, NSW team on a full-time basis.

What you'll do

In this varied and interesting role, you will provide a wide range of personal care to residents under limited supervision and in accordance with the resident's care plan.

We take pride in ensuring we are always adequately staffed to meet the needs of our residents, meaning you will work closely with Registered Nurses and other carers to have the opportunity to provide in-depth and quality care without feeling rushed. 

Your core duties will include (but will not be limited to):

  • You are responsible for identifying and providing quality care to Residents in accordance with The Aged Care Standards
  • You are a member of the Personal Care Staff Team and are expected to work as a cooperative team member to enhance the quality of life of the Residents
  • Promote the Residents physical, psychological, social and spiritual well being while maintaining an appropiate level of their independence
  • Strict adherence to all policy guidelines of Touriandi Lodge and our Philosophy, Values and Mission statements

What we need from you

To be successful in this role, you will hold a Certificate III in Aged Care Work / Individual Support. You will also require a Current First Aid Certificate or willingness to attend training as requested.

Previous experience in aged care will help you hit the ground running in this role. Previous experience is not required, however, as long as you have an interest in the field and a passion for helping to improve the lives of our residents and our community. We will provide comprehensive training to ensure you thrive in your new role. 

You will use your high-level communication skills to build rapport with a range of people including older people, staff, volunteers, and visitors. Good written communication skills including experience in preparing routine documentation related to care notes, analytical, and critical thinking skills will also help you succeed in this role. 

An empathetic and adaptable nature is essential. We care for 28 residents from all walks of life ranging from low to high care needs, and you will have the opportunity to get to know each of them, responding to their needs with understanding. 

Importantly, you will have reflective thinking skills in decision making and problem-solving. You will have a strong desire for continuous learning and development, and the aspiration to grow within a passionate organisation that values its people. 

Please note: You are required to have an Australian driver's licence for this role. You are also required to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
