About Your Next Opportunity
We now have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Building Surveyor to join our team in Scone, NSW working 35 hours a week. Because of the nature of this role, frequent travel is required.
Working closely with the Health, Building and Compliance Coordinator, you will provide building certification services, including advice and guidance to internal and external customers regarding applying statutory codes and Council policies that regulate development and building processes within the Shire.
Core duties:
- Undertake assessments and determinations of local regulatory applications, development applications, complying development certificates, construction certificates and other local government applications;
- Undertake mandatory and other building inspections;
- Investigate and respond to complaints and customer requests;
- Implement Council’s regulatory building action requests and enquiries;
- Provide advice and information to assist in planning matters; and
- Provide consistent and accurate information to internal and external customers.
You will also prepare reports for submission to Council, Committees, General Manager or Direct Environmental services.
What we need from you
Our next superstar will be a dedicated and reliable individual. You will have a degree or diploma qualification in Building Surveying or a related field and demonstrated experience in a similar role.
You will have the ability to obtain minimum building surveyor-restricted (class 1 and 10 buildings) registration per the Building and Development Certifiers Act 2018 and have demonstrated knowledge and experience in Building Control and development assessment.
To succeed in this role, you will be a confident and self-motivating individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and effectively engage with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. The Building and Regulatory Services team is very close-knit and rely heavily on each other. As such, it is paramount that you are able to work effectively as part of the team.
Please note: you will be required to have an unrestricted driver’s licence.
