We are now looking for a Social Worker to join our dedicated team in Albany, WA, on a part-time basis (three days a week). This role is a 12-month fixed-term contract with the possibility for an extension depending on our tenders and contracts with the government.

Working alongside the Family Support Workers and Foster Carers, your key purpose will be to provide best practice casework management to foster families.
Your day-to-day key duties will include (but not be limited to):
- Case management: Develop and deliver social work services for children who need foster care and their families;
- Program administration: maintain and manage the administration of the social work program, including engaging with various stakeholders and maintaining accurate case notes, reports, bookings and data collection; and
- Team participation: work with the team to achieve the goals laid out in Wanslea’s Strategic Plan and the organisation's overall objectives.
You will also need to be available for after-hours on-call services every six weeks from Monday to Friday or Friday to Monday.
What you’ll bring
As our Social Worker, you will hold a bachelor’s degree in Social Work or a recognised equivalent and be eligible for Membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers.
You will also have extensive experience working with child protection and foster families and children in care. Moreover, you will have a high level of knowledge and understanding of family functioning, child development and developmental trauma.
A genuine team player with effective interpersonal and communication skills, you'll have strong time management skills and be a caring, positive, and nurturing individual passionate about helping children and foster families.
Some travel may be required to and from our head office in Perth for training and inductions.
Please note: A national police clearance issued in the last 6 months is a requirement for this role.
