About the Opportunity
Brewarrina AMS now has an opportunity for full-time Registered Nurses to join our team in Brewarrina, NSW.
Deliver a range of culturally appropriate health services within the Brewarrina AMS Clinic and in the wider community.
Core duties:
- Work with other health professionals to develop programs that enhance the care, health and wellbeing of community members;
- Deliver immunisations and other primary health services;
- Collect and enter data progressively to maintain clinical records and ensure timely and comprehensive reporting;
- Assess community needs and resources available and set priorities;
- Plan, implement, and evaluate programs designed to meet the needs of the community;
- Contribute to the quality improvement process and ensuring the service works within this framework at all times;
- Assist staff to ensure a high quality of client care is provided to communities; and
- Collaborate with other staff to ensure the safety of clients, the effective use of resources and adequate supplies are maintained.
Community outreach is a large part of how Brewarrina AMS provides accessible healthcare, and your involvement in providing outreach services will mean a significant part of your week is spent out of the office, and visiting these communities.
Please note: To be eligible to these roles you must hold a current C class drivers licence and a working with children clearance and consent to a national police check prior to commencement.
Skills and experience
To be successful in any of these positions, a relevant nursing qualification and APRHA registration is required.
A candidate with an NSW immunisation certificate as well as COVID 19 immunisation certification is preferred. Brewarrina AMS will support the right candidate in obtaining these.
To be successful in any of these positions, you will possess a sound understanding of Aboriginal health services and the service delivery issues facing these organisations. You will have demonstrated knowledge of clinical quality improvement in primary health care. Your knowledge of the health, social and emotional wellbeing needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, strong communication skills and personal drive will enable you to determine priorities, maintain attention to detail and meet deadlines in order to achieve great results for your community.
The successful candidate will also have strong organisational skills and the ability to effectively manage priorities. You will have excellent report writing skills and have the ability to use (or learn) the Communicare system to capture client information. High-level interpersonal skills are also critical to this position, including the ability to effectively interact with a wide range of individuals.
