A bit about Us

Anyinginyi Health Aboriginal Corporation (AHAC) is a multi-disciplinary organisation which provides primary health care services to the Aboriginal people of Tennant Creek and the surrounding Barkly region.

Anyinginyi consists of four different sections (Health Centre, Corporate Services, Public Health Unit, and Piliyintinji-Ki Stronger Families) which allows them to have a holistic approach to health ensuring that clients' physical and emotional health and wellbeing is given the utmost priority.

Anyinginyi's vision is Aboriginal people in the Barkly region enjoy equity in health status with that of other Australian citizens. Anyinginyi's purpose is to be a provider of high quality holistic primary health care services focusing on the Aboriginal communities of the Barkly region in a culturally responsive way. 

Are you a Senior HR Professional who is wanting to make a difference? AHAC are seeking a full-time HR Executive Manager who will help us achieve our purpose and is looking for a new challenge in a stunning Australian outback location!

How you'll make a difference

This rewarding opportunity will see you leading the HR team of 3 professionals and working closely with other Executive Managers throughout Anyinginyi. You will be responsible for overseeing all internal recruitment for Anyinginyi in addition to implementing attraction, retention and succession planning strategies. You have the opportunity to oversee the future blueprint of AHAC!

More specifically, some of your duties will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Coordinating, monitoring and continuously improving recurrent HR activities including performance appraisals, salary review, contract renewal, exit interview activity and related HR processes with Section Managers;
  • Overseeing the development and implementation of Anyinginyi's employee branding strategy, working with staff across the Corporate Systems Team to position Anyinginyi as an employer of choice; and
  • Supporting the implementation of Anyinginyi's cultural framework to create a workplace where Aboriginal staff feel safe and supported to achieve to their highest potential

AHAC is looking for candidates who have significant experience in Human Resource management and/or Industrial Relations with knowledge of WHS legislation, preferably within the NFP and/or Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation space. Candidates in possession of a Certificate III in training and assessment in conjunction with experience delivering internal professional development will be at a distinct advantage.

You will have an understanding of issues pertaining to Aboriginal primary health and general health care while bringing a deep respect for the past practices and current issues that impact on the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal people. While not required, previous experience working in a remote area will be highly regarded.

As this is a leadership role, exceptional communication skills, both oral and written, with ability to present at a number of levels including Board, management, staff and government and other external agencies will be essential.

In return for your hard work and dedication, you will be rewarded with attractive remuneration circa $112,100 - $134,305 plus super, negotiable with skills and experience. In addition, you will have access to a range of great benefits including:

  • Subsidised furnished accommodation is available for candidates coming from outside of the Barkly region;
  • Up to $5,000 relocation assistance and up to $5,000 repatriation assistance
  • 6 weeks annual leave giving you plenty of time to explore the beautiful Barkly region;

  • Remote retention allowance of $750;
  • A vehicle for afterwork use in Tennant Creek or a flat rate vehicle allowance of $5,000 in lieu of a vehicle;

  • Free personal medical prescriptions (conditions apply).
