Your opportunity 

In this role, you will provide support to the Early Childhood Education and Care services to increase educator capacity and capability, and embed inclusive practices within their service. You will be promoting a clear understanding of inclusion which focuses on all children being seen as capable and contributing to their environment. 

Your key duties will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Building capacity and facilitating change: develop respectful and collaborative relationships with educators, support educators to engage in ongoing professional development through the Strategic Inclusion Plan, and work in inclusive and collaborative ways to develop resources and facilitate activities that promote inclusion for all children. 
  • Service delivery: respond promptly and tactfully to all requests and referrals for inclusion support, and support educators to access the resources available within their communities.
  • Professionalism: undertake professional reflection and learning to further develop relevant skills, and keep up to date with current developments in early and middle childhood.

What we need from you

To be successful in this role you will be a team player with a positive and enthusiastic attitude who is passionate about doing a great job so that children have the best opportunity to thrive and learn.

It is essential for this role that you have a tertiary qualification in education (early/middle childhood) with previous experience working in centres as an educator on the floor. 

In this role, the ability to facilitate change through the use of reflective practice and a strength-based approach is essential. As such, you will need to be a highly competent communicator with strong people management skills. 

You'll bring:

  • An unrestricted manual Australian driver's license and are comfortable traveling by 4WD or light aircraft to remote communities. It is important to note that a company vehicle will be provided, as will 4WD training if required;
  • A valid NT Ochre Card or willingness to obtain prior to commencement;
  • Whilst not essential, candidates who have a senior first aid certificate will be highly regarded, and;
  • Any demonstrated experience working across different cultures, particularly Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander communities will be highly advantageous. Additionally, candidates who have experience as a director will be at a distinct advantage. 

Please note: Vaccination against COVID-19 is a mandatory requirement for this role.

Due to the nature of this role, you need to be willing and able to travel to remote communities for up to several days at a time, this will occur frequently.
