If you are an experienced Carpenter/Builder who takes pride in their work and is passionate about great customer service, we have multiple full-time opportunities for you to join our team as a Building Consultant / Assessor. Opportunities exist in NSW from Baulkham Hills to Campbelltown in Sydney including Newcastle. In QLD opportunities are available in the North-West Brisbane region.
Your duty
The role of the Assessor is to carry out residential home inspections and assess and write succinct and professional reports for a variety of residential building insurance claims. Our growing claim portfolio ranges from minor building repairs to large loss residential building claims with major structural damage.
Your core duties will include, but will not be limited to:
- Inspections: examining the scene and ascertaining the cause and extent of the damage
- Estimation: estimating quantities and cost of materials and labour
- Managing: Manage the repair process and use skills to project manage these repairs
- Writing: providing professional and accurate building inspection reports
- Customer Service: showing empathy and care for customers at all times
Please note: You will be required to climb ladders and inspect roofs. This is something you must be comfortable with.
Requirements
To be fit for this role you will have trade qualification in carpentry/building with an extensive background in the building industry. Any domestic residential building experience or experience dealing with contents insurance will place you in high regard.
Your active listening and exceptional communication skills will optimise your client interactions and written reports. We value high-level initiative, accountability, and an innate drive for consistently strong results. You’ll be problem solving on-the-go; professionally and efficiently recording reports to provide the best possible outcome to our clients.
You will also be hard-working and highly-motivated in conjunction with the ability to think on your feet and make accurate decisions based on the facts in front of you.
Lastly, it is essential that you look professional and presentable at all times because this is a customer facing role. We believe taking pride in your work starts with taking pride in yourself.
