We have been trading as a not-for-profit company since 1989, created to support local Territorians gain quality training and employment opportunities through Apprenticeship and Traineeship pathways. GTNT is made up of three business arms including GTNT as the Group Training Organisation, Training Plus as a Registered Training Organisation and the Australian Apprenticeships Network NT, with offices located in Darwin, Alice Springs, Tennant Creek and Katherine and servicing remote areas throughout the Territory.

We are the largest employer of Apprentices and Trainees in the Northern Territory servicing both the private and public sector and providing additional tailored services such as recruitment, labour hire and training arrangements. Our passion is to up-skill the Territory and create a better futures for Territorians.

We currently have a unique and rewarding opportunity for a Field Solutions Officer/Employment Specialist to help ensure the training experience for apprentices is the best it can possibly be, ensuring that they finish their qualification with not only useful skills, but also unforgettable experiences.

Shape the future

Working as our new Field Solutions Officer/Employment Specialist, you will be employed full-time out of Katherine, NT. Your primary responsibility will be ensuring the AASN/Group Training service is effective and meeting the demands of the Northern Territory Industry and Australian Apprentices. 

Some of your more specific duties will be:

  • Management: Monitor progress of Apprentices and Trainees
  • Customer Service: Undertake regular monitoring and mentoring visits to Apprentices in coordination with Host Business's
  • Employment Services: Increase community awareness of group services
  • General Administration: Provide input into business planning activities

What we need from you

To be successful in this role you will need previous experience in a relevant field such as Employment Services. Whilst not essential, you will also have ideally completed or be in progress of completing a Certificate IV or higher in Business (Employment Services).

The ability to communicate and liaise with a diverse client group will be imperative, as will be a commitment to achieving high quality outcomes and providing superb customer service. A high level of motivation coupled with the ability to meet tight deadlines will also be instrumental in your success.
