About your opportunity
The Tiwi Islands Training and Employment Board (TITEB) now has multiple permanent opportunities for Employment Consultants to join the team on Bathurst Island in the Tiwi Islands, Northern Territory.
Reporting directly to the Employment Services Manager, you will primarily be responsible for ensuring efficient, effective and high-quality delivery of the Community Development Program employment services. TITEB is a high performing CDP provider invited to deliver services until 2023.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Providing personalised services to long and short-term unemployed clients;
- Supporting job seekers to develop skills and experience leading to paid employment;
- Identifying aspirations, motivating and opportunities for clients;
- Ensuring compliance with programme guidelines and organisations policies and procedures;
- Promoting employment programs to customers, families, staff and support groups within the local community; and
- Liaising with Elders, Leaders and service agencies to promote CDP's aims and visions whilst respecting and understanding local community traditions.

What we need from you
TITEB is looking for individuals with demonstrated knowledge of the CDP Contractual obligations and the ability to interpret and apply current and emerging guidelines and procedures.
You must exhibit a high standard of verbal and written communication and the ability to build rapport and maintain effective relationships with clients, peers and relevant agencies.
Most importantly, TITEB is looking for candidates that are resilient and adaptable to the challenges of living and working remotely, with a team-oriented focus.
Please note: All applicants must hold, or be willing to undergo a Working with Children Card and a Criminal History check and must hold an unrestricted, manual drivers licence.
About your new organisation
TITEB was established by the Tiwi Land Council to coordinate all training and employment activities on the Tiwi Islands. TITEB is owned and managed by a Tiwi Board of Directors, with offices in Wurrumiyanga, Milikapiti & Pirlangimpi and Darwin.
The Board is nationally registered as a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) under the Australian Quality Training Framework and manages one of only two NT funded Group Training Organisations operating a new apprenticeship scheme.
