Saving lives on the water

We are Marine Rescue NSW (MRNSW), an essential emergency service that protects the NSW community by providing marine search and rescue response, monitoring and responding to marine radio communications and delivering safety education programs.

Our beating heart is made up of more than 3,000 active volunteer members, organised into 45 geographic units. We work with other emergency services, particularly the NSW Police Force, and promote boating safety through community events, education, and engagement activities (That's where you come in!).

How you will influence

As our Manager Marketing & Supporter Engagement you will report to our General Manager Communications & Engagement and deliver boating safety messages, promote our mission to save lives on the water, and build broad scale awareness and engagement with the boating community and the general public.

Some of your day-to-day responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of marketing and communications strategies;
  • Design, coordinate and deliver innovative and engaging community campaigns, activities and events that boost our profile and promote boating safety.;
  • Contribute to targets such as member retention, recruitment and fundraising;
  • Manage and deliver content across multiple channels including our website, social media, Marine Rescue TV and Soundings magazine; 

What we need

To be successful in this role it is essential that you have proven marketing/communications experience. Demonstrable success in developing, implementing and evaluating marketing, communications and engagement plans will be essential, with experience in a community based or volunteer organisation being highly desired.

You will be a proactive and credible professional with outstanding persuasive communication skills with a strong emphasis on clear, concise and accurate written communication targeted to meet the needs and interests of various audiences and channels.

It is paramount that you are a personable individual who will work well in our team, and sees the value in the incredibly important work we do.
