Lifestyle Assistants

Job No: 152149
Location: Brisbane

  • Empower youth living with a disability!
  • Opportunities for permanence & career progression down the line.
  • Hourly rate on offer of $32 plus penalties

Passionate about providing the right support. Every time.

We believe every person should have access to a safe and secure place to call home and the support they need to live life to the fullest. Since 2019, our youth support services team has provided just that for children and youth living with disability across our range of purpose-built houses in southeast QLD.

We have grown to a team of over 220, and we treat every team member and client as part of our wider supportive family. We are now looking to welcome more Disability Support Workers, or what we call Lifestyle Assistants, to our family to help us continue empowering and supporting our clients.

Join Our Family

We have casual opportunities available in homes across the Gold Coast, Brisbane, & Ipswich. In these roles, you will provide close individual support to youths in our homes as they take on each day.

You will have the close support of our passionate team and regular contact with your team leader, who will rotate between two houses. Our homes are designed to foster a sense of family and belonging while supporting and building independence. As a Lifestyle Assistant, you will be a key facilitator of that environment for our clients.

Your day-to-day could include:

  • Support: Partner with our clients to support them in completing daily tasks like cooking, cleaning and shopping while providing them with any physical assistance required.
  • Facilitation: Provide transportation for our clients’ daily appointments and help them prepare for them as needed.
  • Compliance: Ensure our daily records and reports for the house and clients in your care are complete and accurate, including medication monitoring.
  • Empower: Build positive and trusted relationships with each client so that you can effectively support them in achieving their goals, whatever they may be!

What You Bring

You will need to be friendly, warm, and build great relationships with our clients and our team. Patience and conflict management skills are critical to manage a range of behaviours and to better support our clients who have experienced trauma and other challenges.

You will also bring:

  • One years’ experience in disability support, ideally within in-home care.
  • Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent.
  • NDIS Worker’s screening check (or willing to obtain)
  • Blue Card/Yellow Card (or willing to obtain)
  • Driver’s license (or willing to obtain)
  • First Aid certificate (or willing to obtain)

Most importantly, you will share our passion for empowering young people living with disability to live life to the fullest.

The Perks

At Aspire, we are passionate about your growth and are committed to supporting our people’s skills and career development as much as we can. Whether it be individual or group skills training, alongside mentoring from your Team Leader or a senior team member, we ensure our people have all the skills and support needed to succeed.

We focus on promoting from within, and in fact, our current Team Leaders were once Lifestyle Assistants themselves! Additionally, for those team members who wish, we offer the opportunity for permanence once you are established in the role.

On top of that, you will enjoy:

  • A focus on reward and celebrating success together, with an active social events calendar.
  • The ability to work across various locations across southeast QLD.
  • Plenty of opportunity for overtime for those who wish to increase their earnings.
