The Brisbane German Club
We opened our current Clubhouse in 1933 on the Club’s 50th anniversary. With over 70 German Beers available, the Club also proudly hosts Brisbane’s original Oktoberfest each year! Our Clubhouse is located adjacent to the famous and bustling Gabba stadium and only five minutes from the centre of Brisbane, which will be hosting the 2032 Brisbane Olympics.

Our team is made up of individuals who have a strong appreciation of German culture and who are dedicated to growing the Club and fortifying its rich history.
We are now looking for a reliable Duty Manager to support our Senior Duty Manager in delivering all front and back of house aspects of the Club's beverage service. This is an exciting and unique opportunity for you to have nights and Sunday's off. This truly is the dream roster!
Your next opportunity
In this role, you will be primarily responsible for opening the venue, managing deliveries and undertaking general and routine maintenance in and around the Club.
Your core duties will fall into the following categories:
- Staff and venue supervision
- Rostering of bar/floor staff
- Beverage stock control
- Club cleaning and maintenance
What you will bring to the team
Our next Duty Manager will have previous experience working in a high-pace bar and a strong knowledge and understanding of beverage stock control. You will also have the ability to service beer equipment and have a practical understanding of the trade.
You will also have previous experience in the following areas:
- Maintaining beer reticulation systems
- Beverage stocktaking processes
- Venue opening procedures
- Bar service
- RSA practices
Crucial to your success is your ability to have a whole venue awareness and be able to make decisions in a holistic and big picture way. Moreover, you will be a proactive and self-motivating individual who takes initiative and is present.
Although not essential, a genuine appreciation of German culture and the ability to speak German is highly advantageous.
