In preserving the Cavill family’s rich hospitality history and championing the future of their high-end, quality meat experiences, we are helping them search for an extraordinary Restaurant Manager to run their newest outfit, Cavill’s (Cav’s) Steakhouse & Rooftop Bar.
The family tradition began in 1925, when Jim opened the Surfers Paradise Hotel. We’re only open from Wednesday to Sunday for lunch and dinner. You can expect shifts from 11am-11pm (in peak) with a generous break in between. Opening and closing procedures are expected.
How you’ll enhance our team:
First and foremost, we are looking for a hands-on-the-deck Manager. You love people, and people love you! Your demeanour is driven by improving service, morale, and business outcomes. You're adept with budgeting, scheduling, and problem-solving - if there's a storm, you'll be the first one to start shutting blinds and helping patrons move inside.
The green flags we are looking for:
- You bring significant hospitality management experience, ideally delivering high-end service and managing the floor of mezzanine service areas. You are familiar with fast-paced shifts, adaptable to change, and able to effectively manage around 150 bookings per night;
- You are focused on the ‘patron experience’, able to teach and problem solve seamlessly to maintain a calm atmosphere, and willing to help wherever needed;
- You are highly personable, knowledgable, and able to effectively connect with our world-class Chefs, our wonderful service staff, and loyal patrons who are keen to interact with the managing staff. You'll set the scene for every shift, ensuring staff are equipped with the correct training and equipment for success;
- You understand the pertinence of timely rostering, administration, and financial management assistance;
- You’re adaptable and flexible - ready to learn our processes and help us to improve them!
Reporting to the General Manager and Director, your primary responsibility is to coordinate the seamless running of the restaurant and rooftop bar, preserving the Cavill’s name for exquisite service long into the future.
For the driven candidate there is also the prospect to acquire equity in the business after 12 months. This will depend on experience and your ability to drive the net profit for the business based on a yearly assessment.
