Kimberley Pharmacy Services (KPS)
Kimberley Pharmacy Services’ vision is to help rural, remote, and Indigenous people around Australia to live longer and healthier lives by delivering consistent, innovative, and high-quality healthcare services. Our work has been recognised through several awards, including the National Pharmacy of the Year.
We have a rewarding opportunity for experienced and passionate Pharmacists to join our passionate team across the Kimberley region (Broome, Derby and Fitzroy Crossing). From time to time, you will also find yourself in Kununurra and Halls Creek.
This is your chance to explore a beautiful part of Australia and make a real difference in the lives of communities in the region.
What You’ll Enjoy
We are ideally looking for a Pharmacist to join us on a full-time permanent basis. However, we understand that everyone has their preferences. We are open to flexible working arrangements to fit your lifestyle.
- Fly-in, fly-out: this would suit pharmacists with existing commitments to other pharmacies but don’t want the hassle of finding locum work to fill the gaps. Minimum four weeks per swing/rotation.
- Job share: would suit two pharmacists who want to work and live together (e.g. a husband and wife or friends wishing to explore the Kimberley together). For example, on a given day, one can work in the pharmacy, the other in another KPS role in a hospital, aboriginal health service or aged care.
- Part-time: would suit someone studying or with other interests or family commitments.
- Seasonal: life in the Kimberley wet season (November to April) can be difficult to adjust to. You may prefer to work only the dry season to escape the southern winter (July is swimming weather on Broome’s Cable Beach).
This role comes with an attractive salary circa $200,000 (Full-time Equivalent) highly negotiable based on your experience, and depending on your preferred working arrangements, you will also enjoy:
- Accommodation allowance
- Education and training allowance
- Annual leave travel allowance
- Relocation assistance
- Use of shared vehicles
- Fully-furnished accommodation
- Paid travel
- Additional annual leave
- Flexible time-in-lieu arrangements
Your next opportunity
Our Pharmacists have dynamic days. On any given day, you will be doing the things every community Pharmacist does, including:
- Supply (dispensing and S2/S3)
- Patient counselling and medication education
- Dose Administration Aid checking
- CPOP
- Vaccinations
- Meds Checks / Diabetes Meds Checks
You will also have the opportunity to grow your experience in:
- Delivering culturally safe pharmacy care for Aboriginal patients, families and communities.
- We are providing outreach and community-based services.
- Supporting remote clinics through tele-pharmacy.
- Clinical auditing and clinical reviews.
- Collaborating with other healthcare providers in the region.
About You
To thrive in this role, you will be a qualified Pharmacist with a general (unrestricted) AHPRA registration and demonstrated experience working in dynamic environments.
You will be a strong problem-solver and emotionally intelligent individual who can be flexible in their approach. You will also possess the leadership and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively and effectively build relationships with community members throughout the region.
Moreover, you will be passionate about making an impact, helping build up our teams and thriving with our principle of continual development.
Please note: this is not a graduate opportunity.
