The Central Land Council (CLC) is the Commonwealth Government statutory authority for the southern half of the Northern Territory - covering an area of almost 770,000 square kilometres. We consist of 90 elected Aboriginal representatives from the communities within CLC's nine regions and an additional 260 staff, approximately half of whom are Aboriginal.

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic individual to join us in an Organisational Development Coordinator role. Working from our Alice Springs office, the successful candidate will play a vital role in developing and implementing our ongoing training and development programs for all our teams.

What you'll receive in the role

In addition to working for a devoted organisation advocating for the rights of Aboriginal people across Central Australia, you will receive an attractive salary of $98,524 - $106,389 plus super, and a range of additional benefits, including:

  • 13.5% super contributions;
  • Relocation assistance;
  • District Allowance;
  • Salary sacrificing of up to $29,000 per annum;
  • Airfares to a major centre in Australia (of your choice)
  • 5 weeks annual leave with a week off over Christmas; and
  • Accommodation assistance for up to 4 months.

Additionally, as this is a newly recreated role within the CLC, you will be able to shape the direction of the training and development of the organisation.

How you will develop in the role

This role will see the successful candidate having responsibility for developing and implementing the training and development plans for all staff within the CLC. As such, they will be involved in the planning and preparation of training plans and ensure they align and comply with the relative regulations and legislation. The core responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Training course development and implementation
  • Budgetary planning and management
  • Database management
  • Development of staff  with a focus on the Aboriginal Development Group
  • Creation of analytics and reports

Working closely with external educational organisations, you will assist our Indigenous employees to maximise their ability to gain meaningful qualifications.

What you will bring to the role

A project-focussed, organised and enthusiastic training and development professional, you will have a certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent qualification. Analytical, with well-developed problem- solving skills, you will understand that one size does not fit all when it comes to developing training for a diverse workforce.

Culturally aware, you will understand the need to appreciate the differences between individuals from different communities and how these may shape their approach to work, training and development and will utilise this to create individual programs to address these differences.

  • Running the permit system for visitors to Aboriginal land.
