About the Organisation 

Marine Rescue NSW (MRNSW) is an essential emergency service and protects the NSW community by providing marine search and rescue response, monitoring, responding to marine radio communications, and delivering safety education programs.

The heart of MRNSW is more than 3,000 active volunteer members, organised into 45 geographic units. We work with other emergency services, particularly the NSW Police Force, and promote boating and water safety through community events, education, and engagement activities.

About the Opportunity 

MRNSW now has an exciting opportunity for a Fleet Administration Officer to join their team based in Cronulla, New South Wales.

Reporting to the Senior Manager - Fleet and liaising with Zone teams, the Fleet Administration Officer will work across the whole Marine Rescue organisation. This critical role will support MRNSW fleet operations by administering the systems around sourcing, and managing frontline rescue vessels and vehicles, ensuring they are fit for purpose. The successful candidate will also be responsible for ensuring that all vessels and vehicles comply with regulatory and policy requirements.

Some of your core duties include (but are not limited to): 

  • Supporting MRNSW fleet modernisation and vessel replacement programs
  • Maintaining fleet and related asset databases and administrative activities
  • Creating and implementing robust policy and procedures enabling rescue personnel to be supported in their roles
  • Maintaining vessel and vehicle compliance and registration.
  • Procurement, including vessel building and refurbishment contracts

About You

With strong administration and communication skills, you will contribute effectively to relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including our valuable volunteers. Bringing extensive policy and procedure creation experience, you will understand the legislative and regulatory framework that MRNSW operates under and ensure compliance with these at all times.

We are looking for the following experience and qualifications: 

  • Tertiary qualifications or relevant experience in asset management, procurement or related fields;
  • Experience in the management of fleet and associated assets;
  • Procurement and administration experience;
  • Project management, especially of complex asset-related projects; and
  • Experience in maritime, emergency services, particularly with volunteer-based organisations.

Additionally, the successful candidate will possess a current Australian driver's licence.
