Macfarlane Generators have over 70 years of experience. From humble beginnings in Melbourne, we have since expanded into Sydney and Brisbane. We are a trusted generator specialist, which is why we’ve been around so long and will continue into the future!

We seek qualified and experienced electricians to join our Melbourne branch as Field Electricians in a full-time role. The vital positions will see you working with our clients to ensure their power generation equipment is kept in excellent working order and able to perform when required.

What you will generate in the role

In these critical roles, you will be the face of the organisation, attending clients' sites and diagnosing and repairing their power-generating equipment. While most of work will be conducted within the Melbourne Metropolitan area, work is also available in regional areas for suitable candidates.

Some of the key duties of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Power testing and power proving;
  • Recording test sheets; and 
  • Writing client and operational reports.

Our clients include Airports, Hospitals, Events and small towns. While regularly scheduled maintenance is a regular part of this work, successful candidates must also be capable and willing to attend to emergency work.

The spark you will bring with you

As an "A" grade qualified electrician, you will bring your experience working in commercial and industrial environments. With expertise in diagnosing and repairing power generators and electrical control systems, you are solutions focussed, always looking for the best outcome for the client and Macfarlane Generators.

Customer focussed and reliable, you will be comfortable communicating with customers and building long-term relationships with them. You will also be comfortable setting realistic expectations for the repair of equipment.

Strong communication skills will ensure you are confident and comfortable preparing reports for customers and creating notes on any repairs or servicing undertaken.

While a manual driver's licence is not required for the role, it will be advantageous.

You will also bring a can-do attitude and a willingness to work as part of hard-working, dedicated and fun-loving team.
