Walgett Aboriginal Medical Service - Empowering community, health and identity
WAMS not only provides healthcare, but it also helps educate and support Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people in the community to care for their health and improve their wellbeing, with many initiatives to help make healthy living more accessible. About the Opportunity
WAMS now has an exciting opportunity for a part-time or full-time Goonimoo Children's Services Manager to join their team in Walgett, NSW.
Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, you coordinate and manage a mobile outreach children's service providing playgroups and themed special days to children and families in Walgett and the surrounding areas. This critical role will provide an opportunity for community members with small children to come together, share ideas, improve skills and knowledge and provide a support network of people in a similar situation.
The key responsibilities of the role include:
- Coordinating the programs for the Goonimoo Children's service including the Mobile service.
- Developing program content and a program schedule
- Work with individual communities to assess their needs and how the service can assist them
- Ensure the Goonimoo Children's Service and Mobile Service comply with current Children's Services regulations.
- Oversee and develop the staff working within the service.
You will also have the opportunity to travel periodically to communities surrounding Walgett and see breathtaking parts of Australia that many people never get to see.

This salary package is inclusive of the following benefits:

- 4 weeks annual leave;
- Salary sacrificing up to $15,900 per year; and

About You
To thrive in your new role, you will need a Diploma in Children's Services or equivalent. Candidates with a Bachelor's degree in Children's Services will be highly regarded.
You will be highly organised and proactive in your approach and bring strong attention to detail to the position. With strong computer literacy, your interpersonal skills will enable you to develop relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
