We continue to do fantastic work for our clients and are now looking for an experienced Senior Associate – Contentious Business to join our team full-time. You can work from anywhere and set your own hours. Whether you are a morning person or a night owl, we want you to work when you’re at your best- our clients deserve the best.
The way we see it, disputes are a symptom of business gone wrong, and sometimes litigation (like surgery) is what it takes. If you’re curious about what happens in companies and about finding ways to prevent them from happening, this is the position for you.

Support clever companies
Working closely with the Managing Associate, this is a role for aspiring leaders. You will lead the resolution of disputes for our clients and provide general commercial counsel to our clients- but don’t worry, you won’t be on your own.
We believe that teamwork makes the dream work! Working together as a team on all matters is the key to our success, and you will never enter a client matter without at least one other team member with you.
To thrive in this role, you will have a current Australian practising certificate and demonstrated experience working in litigation and contention business. You will also have the following experience and knowledge:
- Thorough knowledge of civil procedure rules.
- Be able to run effectively run a case to trial.
- Conduct mediation and other forms of alternative dispute resolutions.
- Strong legal foundations: we’re looking for people who know the elements of contract off the top of their head, are nerdy enough to check the latest High Court case list and can happily have a conversation about private law remedies!
You will be a curious and open-minded individual who can understand and respect other points of view and be evidence-based in their thinking.
In this role, you will work collaboratively with the team and a wide range of external stakeholders, including those who aren’t lawyers or proficient in the law. As such, you will be an effective communicator who can engage with different backgrounds, both legal and non-legal.
