Due to ongoing growth, Latrobe Regional Hospital (LRH) is now looking for experienced Paediatric and Neonatal Registered Nurses to join their dedicated and hard-working team in Traralgon, Victoria. This role will see you joining our Thomson Ward - a combined ward providing maternity, surgical, paediatric and neonatal nursery services.

About our Thomson Ward

As a level 5 Maternity Service and Level 4 Special Care Nursery, our Thomson ward is also a referral service for our smaller Gippsland Regional maternity services. We provide the highest level of care inclusive of:

  • Pregnancy Care
  • Birthing
  • Postnatal
  • Domiciliary
  • Lactation support
  • Special Care Nursery
  • Paediatric Medical and surgical services
  • Women’s Health

What it’s like to be a Registered Nurse working in our Thomson Ward at Latrobe Regional Hospital?

Our team are dedicated to providing family-centred care. We work within a multidisciplinary team consisting of Obstetricians, Paediatricians, Neonatologists, Midwives, Nurses, Social Workers, Lactation Consultants, Domiciliary Midwives, Diabetes Educators and other expert professionals as required.

You’ll enjoy the variety and challenge that comes from working with like-minded skilled senior staff and clinical mentors while being supported by your colleagues, all committed to providing high-level care and the best possible healthcare outcomes for our mothers, children, neonates and families in the Gippsland community.

We have ongoing full and part-time opportunities on a 24/7 rotational roster.

What you will bring:

To thrive in this role, you will be a qualified Registered Paediatric or Neonatal Nurse with demonstrated experience in working in either paediatric or neonatal areas. You will be a positive individual who loves to laugh and work alongside other like-minded individuals.

We are looking for candidates with a broad range of experience. However, we highly encourage graduates to apply!

You are driven and look forward to growing your career with the support of amazing mentors and educators within our highly skilled broader Thomson team. We have a close relationship with Federation University and will fully support you to complete a range of postgraduate courses. 

Additionally, you will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to effectively communicate with our patients, other staff and stakeholders.
