We seek a dynamic and self-motivated administration professional to join our small, tight-knit team as an Administration and Events Coordinator based in the Wingellina Community in the Ngaanyatjarra Lands in Western Australia.

Opportunity

Reporting to the General Manager, this crucial position will see you coordinating the smooth operations of the NG Media Centre Office. You will provide oversight for our local community radio workers.

 The key responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Day-to-day operations of the Media Centre office;
  • Document management, including fortnightly reports, board meetings and staff paperwork;
  • Health and safety, including the management of equipment and staff safety and wellbeing;
  • Event Coordination and logistics, including bimonthly board meetings and community cultural events; and
  • Monitoring local staff employment.

What you will bring to the position

To succeed in this role, you will bring demonstrated office administration and event coordination experience from your previous roles. Candidates with formal qualifications in business will be highly regarded. Experience in travel logistics, while not essential for the position, will be beneficial for the successful candidate to bring to the role.

Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with culturally diverse stakeholder groups will be required by the successful candidate, as will an understanding of the political, social and economic factors that affect Indigenous communities. With analytical and problem-solving skills, you can work independently and assist with decision-making in the absence of the General Manager.

You will also need to possess:

  • Current Australian manual driver's licence
  • Full Covid Vaccination (including Booster)
  • Current WA Working With Children Check (WWCC)
  • Current National Police Check

Candidates with previous experience working in remote locations and with Indigenous people and communities will be highly regarded.
