For the last 50 years, we have designed, installed and commissioned almost every type of water and wastewater technology and have delivered these contracts under various project delivery methods.

Within the larger Aquatec Maxcon Group lies MPA Engineering, a leading electrical, controls and automation engineering firm that has specialised in Water/Wastewater and Energy industries for over 25 years. 

Our business is growing, and we now have an exciting opportunity for a curious and solutions-focused Experienced Control Engineer to join our team in our Wulkuraka office, close to Ipswich, QLD. Due to the nature of this role, you will be providing your expertise to different project sites.

Your next opportunity

In this role, you will make a significant contribution to our engineering team delivering PLC/SCADA programming and power studies to major projects 

Core duties:

  • Review tender specifications and assist in electrical tender preparation;
  • Support power system studies (including load flow, cable sizing, fault calculation and protection coordination); and
  • Guide engineering design to junior engineers.

You will also work with a team of passionate professionals who work safely and responsibly to deliver world-class solutions.

What you will bring to the team

To thrive in this role, you will have a qualification in Electrical Engineering and a minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience working in a controls environment. You will also have previous experience working with power engineering and control systems.

As you will be working on a variety of projects, it is important that you have a strong understanding and knowledge of Australian Building Standards (AS3000 and AS3008).

Moreover, you will have previous exposure and experience with power system analysis software, with a preference for SKM PTW, ETAP and Powercad software.

You will be an adaptable and self-driven individual who is curious and can ask questions while effectively designing processes and systems that offer long-term solutions and outcomes.

It is crucial that you have a boots-on-the-ground and hands-on approach to your work and that you can effectively come up with solutions and take people on a journey with you through your agile and lean focus.
