Hi there! We are Gwydir Day Care and Preschool and we have been operating for over 30 years, supporting the children of working parents, as well as some from non-working families subject to vacancies.

Owned and managed by Moree Plains Shire Council, our centre has fantastic facilities to support a wide range of interests, offering play-based learning and engaging educational activities for children from 8 weeks up to 5 years.

To meet the ongoing demand of the local community, we are now on the lookout for a full-time Early Childhood Teacher to join our team in Moree, NSW.

The Opportunity

In this role, you will provide high-quality early childhood education and care to our preschool room. Your work hours will fall within rotating shifts between 7:45 am – 5:45 pm (7:45 am – 4:23 pm and 8:37 am – 5:45 pm). Flexible work arrangements may also be considered.

You’ll be great in this role because:

You will have completed or be actively working towards a Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood). You will also have strong knowledge of and ability to develop a creative and stimulating program based on the needs and interests of children.

You will also need to have the ability to relate in a positive and caring manner and meet the individual needs of children at a preschool level.

A genuine team player and fantastic multitasker, you will be a positive and caring individual who is passionate about the growth and development of our preschool classroom.

Please note: It is essential that you hold, or are willing to obtain, a First Aid Certificate and current NSW Working with Children Check.

About Gwydir

Gwydir Day Care and Preschool is open from 7:45am to 5:45pm Monday to Friday, following a play based learning philosophy to suit a range of ages. They have 4 rooms, divided based on age/developmental stage:

  • Gumnut Room - Up to 16 children aged 8 weeks to 24 months. The room is divided into two groups, non-walkers (children under 12 months) and confident walkers.
  • Sundew Room - Up to 15 children roughly 2 to 3 years old.
  • Wattle Room - Up to 20 children from 3 to 4 years old, who are either toilet trained or training.
  • Preschool Room - Up to 20 children from 4 to 5 years, with activities based on individual skills/interests that prepare kids for 'big school'.
