Carmichael Kids is an Early Learning Centre that provides high-quality learning through our caring, well-trained staff and leading facilities. We have strong values and culture that we use to educate the children in our care.

Situated on the Carmichael College campus, we have twelve classes across our early learning centre, with four dedicated Kindergarten classes in their own state-of-the-art building. After two internal promotions, we are looking for a fully qualified Early Childhood Teacher to join our team and teach our Kindergarteners.

The Opportunity

As the Early Childhood Teacher, you will be in charge of one of our kindy rooms and will be responsible for teaching Kindergarteners, lesson planning, and setting up and packing down rooms for the day. You will work closely with our other educators and our Educational Leaders. 

You will also have the support of our educational leaders, who do not run their own rooms and are there to help you. We have a team member who assists with our children with additional needs or requirements; they can help you make adjustments to lesson plans or room setups, as well as support parents and liaise with allied health professionals when required.

When you join us, you’ll be:

• Providing supervision, support, and respect for the children in your room
• Being a positive role model to children in your behaviour and language
• Communicating effectively with children, parents, and other staff
• Maintaining the daily routine and record-keeping of the room, including being punctual
• Following WHS standards, including housekeeping and hygiene tasks
• Working alongside other teachers and staff to ensure the successful operation of the centre

About You

We are looking for someone who is passionate about early childhood education and has a strong belief in the potential of all children. You will have strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.

You will have:

• A Bachelor’s of Education (Early Childhood)
• A current QLD teacher’s registration and valid working with children check (Blue Card)
• Enthusiasm and passion for early years learning
• A community mindset and the ability to work well in a team environment
• Strong ability to communicate well with both colleagues and parents
• The ability to support and promote the values of Carmichael Kids
