We are looking for Registered Nurses to join our Aged Care team full-time. You will work with our team in Yallambee Lodge, Cooma, and Snowy River Hostel, Berridale. 

About the Residential Aged Care Facilities:

Our Aged Care homes offer programs and activities to decrease isolation and enhance engagement, including group outings and personalised care services tailored to each resident's unique needs to improve their overall quality of life.

Snowy River Hostel has been operating since 1993 and offers 13 permanent spaces and one respite bed, all in private rooms with ensuite. The home is located in a quiet cul-de-sac in Berridale and provides a beautiful rural outlook.

Yallambee Lodge was built and opened in 1995. It is a 40-bed aged care facility with 38 permanent beds and two respite beds. All rooms are private with ensuite. The home includes beautiful gardens and open shared spaces for activities and socialising.

The Opportunity:

Join our supportive clinical team of RNs, ENs, Allied Health professionals, Team Leaders, and Aged Care Managers who mentor and collaborate to deliver clinical care. You will have the opportunity to make a positive impact and bring comfort to those in need.

As an Aged Care Registered Nurse, you will make a change in the life of our elderly residents while working within our residential facilities. We want to work with you, so our shifts offer flexibility. The am shift is 8 hours during the day, and our night shifts are 10 hours. 

You will apply your passion for person-centred care to ensure a safe environment and enhance our residents' quality of life and independence. Your role in the care and support of older adults during their final stages of life is crucial, ensuring their comfort and dignity.

Responsibilities include:

  • Deliver safe, high quality and effective person-centred clinical care within the relevant scope of registration 
  • Comply with legislation, Aged Care Quality Standards, and other applicable requirements for clinical care
  • Lead clinical care to support residents' physical, psychosocial, social, and spiritual wellbeing
  • Facilitate improvements to service quality and responsiveness through competency assessment and development
  • Balance client safety and dignity of risk

You’ll be great in this role because:

As an experienced Registered Nurse in the aged care environment, you will hold a current Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) and Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) registration.

Empathy, caring, and autonomy will be attributes you align with closely as you demonstrate the ability to interact with older people or people with disability in a positive, friendly and professional manner.

A significant part of your role will be to liaise with families. You must know how to balance your private and professional life whilst proudly upholding respect and representing Snowy Monaro Regional Council.

Furthermore, you will bring positivity to your role and demonstrate:

  • A passion for collaboration and teamwork
  • Emotional intelligence when providing support to both patients and their families
  • Proficiency in the use of computers
  • Current Class C Drivers Licence
  • Current COVID vaccination status

You must be willing to work varying hours according to roster requirements and residents’ needs, including shift work and some night, on-call roster, weekend and public holiday shifts.
