Dalby Christian College is a Prep-Year 12 school plus an Early Childhood Centre serving the Dalby Community. We offer ATAR and tertiary pathways for all our students, as well as extracurricular activities.

After our community founding in 1981 we have grown, opening our boarding house in 1985 and becoming part of Christian Community Ministries (CCM) in 2010. We have since undergone various improvements, including the construction of new facilities such as the Multipurpose Centre, Science and Home Economics Specialist Block, and Creative Arts Block, and currently have 440 students enrolled.

We are currently looking for an experienced and passionate school leader to join us in Dalby as our Head of Secondary School, looking after years 7-12.

The role

When you join Dalby Christian College, you will also be joining our tight-knit Dalby community. As our Head of Secondary School you will be an active participant in our community, and make an effort to form relationships with teachers and families within our school and town community.

You will be responsible for managing and leading a team of educators to ensure that our students receive the best possible education. As our Secondary School leader, you will be a key member of the school's leadership team and will work collaboratively with other administrators, faculty, and staff to promote our school's mission and values.

At our school, we believe in providing a nurturing and supportive environment where students can grow academically, socially, and spiritually. Our Head of Secondary School will be responsible for 12 teachers and approximately 200 students.

Duties will include:

• Strategic planning of the Secondary School’s operations;
• Administration and planning to ensure the effective running of the Secondary School;
• Oversee the curriculums and ensure the most up-to-date teaching and learning is being conducted, including stepping in to teach if necessary;
• Monitor student behaviour and conduct disciplinary interventions where necessary; and
• Work alongside the Principal to recruit, mentor, and develop staff.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have experience as a school administrator, a strong teaching background, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills. 

As our Head of Secondary School you will be an experienced leader and a strategic thinker with good business acumen. You will be able to work effectively with our Principal and CCM to develop any new strategies or plans to improve our Secondary School.

You will have:

• A minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Education
• Strong experience as an educator with a wide understanding of curriculum
• Demonstrable experience running a department or secondary school
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
• A strategic thinker who can create and action business plans
• Valid QLD Teachers Registration including Blue Card
