We now have multiple rewarding opportunities available for Specialist Family Violence Practitioners and Respondent Family Violence Practitioners to join our team in Shepparton on a full-time basis. 

Your Next Opportunity:

As our next Specialist Family Violence Practitioner or Respondent Family Violence Practitioner, you will have the opportunity to deliver vital support services to our clients who are victims of family and domestic violence. This is a rewarding role where you will work alongside a diverse and multidisciplinary team of professionals within a complex service delivery environment that employs a multi-agency approach to the provision of services. For candidates applying to our Respondent Family Violence Practitioner role, you will work with perpetrators of family and domestic violence and provide triage and assessment for men who use violence. Your work will have a tangible impact in ensuring perpetrators are held to account and, in turn, increase the safety of women and children experiencing violence at home. Responsibilities Include:

  • Undertaking a caseload and delivering as a practitioner for family violence
  • Providing appropriate responses in line with theoretical and practice-based frameworks 
  • Delivering support services via phone 
  • Working collaboratively with Orange Door team members to support integrated risk assessment and planning
  • Building and maintaining positive working relationships with stakeholders 
  • Maintaining accurate and complete records of work activities in accordance with legislative requirements

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

To be considered for either of these positions, you must possess a Bachelor of Social Work or an equivalent qualification/experience level as outlined in Recommendation 209 (or a valid exemption as outlined in the Recommendation). Although experience in a similar position will be highly regarded, we are also open to considering graduate applicants who are looking to kickstart their careers in a rewarding complex service delivery environment.

Critical to your success in either of these positions will be your highly-developed communication skills, your emotional intelligence, and your ability to engage with people from a wide range of backgrounds. Your interpersonal skills and continued resilience will see you in good stead to foster an environment that allows you to effectively engage with clients who are often accessing our services during times of significant distress. 

Other requirements include:

  • Willingness to undergo a National Police Check
  • A valid Working with Children’s Check
  • Ability to provide proof of relevant qualifications prior to commencement of employment
