About the Opportunity
TriCare has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse to join their established residential aged care team in a permanent part-time capacity in Bundaberg, QLD.
Working evenings out of Bundaberg Nursing Centre, a 99 bed high care facility, the primary purpose of this role will be to provide clinical expertise to residents and leadership to a team of personal care staff.
More specifically, some of your duties will include:
- Providing a high standard of comprehensive nursing and personal care;
- Providing a warm, caring atmosphere for residents, family, friends and colleagues;
- Promoting a culture of service orientation that improves the lifestyle of residents;
- Directing all staff on duty to ensure work output is completed in a high quality, caring fashion;
- Developing and applying a holistic and homelike philosophy of care for residents;
- Monitoring performance of individual team members and providing on-the-job assistance where necessary; and
- Accounting to the Facility Manager and Clinical Care Manager for all clinical and work practices.
To be successful in this role, you will have, or be eligible for, current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, as well as a demonstrated ability to embrace the philosophy of resident care that promotes dignity, independence and advocacy.
You will be a quick learner who has the ability to work as part of a coordinated team but also feels comfortable in a role with a large amount of autonomy. You will need to demonstrate sound computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office Suite products and the ability to adapt well to new clinical situations and demands.
Although not essential, candidates with qualifications and/or experience in aged care or post-basic qualifications in gerontology nursing or experience in the field will be highly regarded. In addition, familiarity in ACFI and clinical care documentation processes will be advantageous.
