The essential ingredient for success as a Mortgage Broker is simple. You need a source or stream of customer enquires. In other words, you need a market to work in and build a client base to generate enquiries from potential borrowers. Successfully writing loans for clients will generate referrals from these satisfied clients and build your business more quickly.

Intending Brokers must be prepared to identify and develop their chosen market by good networking, regular communication, newsletters, visits etc….   Setting up as a broker and relying on advertising in the Yellow Pages, Newspapers, Local Press or Website is very costly and from our 15 years experience, is largely a waste of money. Mortgage Broking is a people business and is all about you talking to many prospects/people. Many brokers have developed good referral sources like accountants and real estate agents, solicitors, home builders and more, but the key to success is being ready willing and able to find and talk to people about their finance needs.
