In doing so, the company has embraced an efficient, goal-oriented business that nurtures and develops a culture of exceptional performance. APT will continue to expand on present commitments to touring in regions that include Europe, Scandinavia, the Americas and Asia.
About the Opportunities
APT has exciting opportunities for a number of Camp Hosts and Driver Guides to join their dynamic team working throughout the Northern Territory and Western Australia's Kimberley Regions.
Applicants are strongly encouraged to attend a free information session being held at the Zest Restaurant and Terrace at the Novotel Darwin (100 The Esplanade, Darwin) on Wednesday 22nd September and Thursday 23rd September. Sessions will run for approximately 1 hour, and are available at 10.30am, 2.30pm and 5.00pm on each day, to suit your lifestyle.
Within these extremely varied roles, you will host action-packed driving and camping tours throughout the Top End and Western Australia, including driving in amazing terrain, cooking hearty meals and providing informative commentary on tour! Whether you're applying as a Camp Host or a Driver/Guide, you will work as a team to show off the gorgeous and rugged heartland of Australia to APT's clients!
Beginning in April 2011, these two roles differ in specific duties, but all applicants need to be enthusiastic, fit and healthy people who love to meet new people and have a genuine love for all things outdoors! For people with an adventurous spirit, this is your dream job!
Camp Hosts will be based in numerous camps throughout the stunning Kimberley region, working for 3 weeks at a time and taking 1 week off, when you will have the option of exploring the region from APT's other camps. Positions are available on a seasonal basis April to October. You will provide exceptional customer service to guests, with your duties including:
- Meeting, greeting and assisting guests;
- Preparing and serving meals, cleaning camp sites and making beds;
- Assisting the Driver Guides; and
- Driving 4WD vehicles and small group touring where required.
The Driver Guides will be based in Darwin and travel throughout the Territory and WA on extended tours (up to 3 weeks at a time). You will transport guests through beautiful terrain and offer entertaining and informative commentary along the way. Applicants will require a MR driver's licence with H endorsement (public passenger licence).
The company is looking for confident, fit, people-focused individuals, who have a passion for travel and the desire to give a group of passengers a fun-filled trip!
For both roles, you will need to hold a Senior First Aid Certificate (or ability to obtain these before starting in early 2011).
These are challenging roles in which you need to be able to organise groups of people, while making sure that all aspects of the trip go off without a hitch. The successful candidates will have strong leadership skills and remain positive in what can sometimes be difficult situations.
This is a big responsibility, and the successful candidates will need to be prepared for a challenge. However, it's also a great way to meet people and an excellent opportunity to combine work with travelling.
These incredible jobs will allow you to experience the thrills and challenges of group travel first hand. APT offers extremely competitive remuneration circa $150 - $200 per day (depending on role, location and experience) and a generous training allowance. Once you have successfully completed the training there are nearly no costs (i.e. no need to pay for accommodation, meals etc) whilst you are working on the road!
Not only does APT offer a unique and invigorating career, the company is held in high regard and working with the company will open many doors in the travel and tourism industry.
This is an amazing opportunity to earn money while you travel around the Top End and Western Australia! Don't miss out - Apply Now!
