Council is looking for a confident, hands-on Team Leader (Signs) who enjoys both working independently and leading people, working outdoors and taking pride in delivering safe, high-quality infrastructure for the community.
This role is ideal for someone who leads by example, communicates clearly, and works collaboratively with their team and supervisors to get the job done right.
You’ll play a key role in coordinating signage for civil works, while actively contributing on the tools and helping shape a positive, proactive team culture.

About the Role
Reporting to the Works Supervisor, you will work both independently and lead a team of Works Operators whilst working closely with other Council teams to deliver construction and maintenance projects safely, efficiently and in line with Council’s works program.
You’ll be trusted to manage daily activities, identify issues before they become problems, and support your team to perform at their best — all while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality and service to the community.
About You
You’re a proactive, practical leader who enjoys working with people and understands that strong teamwork and communication are key to successful outcomes.
You take initiative, think ahead, and are comfortable making decisions in the field.
You’re approachable, safety-focused and organised, with the ability to balance leadership responsibilities with hands-on work. Most importantly, you care about doing the right thing — for you, your team, for Council, and for the community.
What We're Looking For:

Experience in civil construction, particularly signage and/or delineation works.

Demonstrated ability to work independently, and also lead, support and communicate effectively with a diverse team.

A proactive, problem-solving mindset and strong attention to detail.

Experience operating construction plant and equipment safely.

Knowledge of RMS delineation guidelines & SafeWork NSW Traffic Control Work Cards (IMP and TCR).

PWZTMP certification (or willingness to obtain).

Current MR Licence and White Card.

A strong commitment to WHS, safe systems of work and continuous improvement.

Certificate III in Civil Construction and Certificate IV in Frontline Management (or willingness to complete).
