About the Opportunity
Manangatang P-12 College has an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Business Manager (Bursar) to join their senior management team in Manangatang, VIC.
In this varied role, you will be responsible for maintaining the College's budget and relevant financial information as well as managing the recruitment, training and development of support staff. Along with the day-to-day management of Education Support (ES) staff, you'll provide advice to the principal and liaise on behalf of the school with the general community. You will also be responsible for ensuring that employee issues are dealt with appropriately, and that OH&S standards are met.
More specifically, some of your key duties will include:
- Providing a range of administrative support services for the Principal, staff and College Community;
- Organising and coordinating support for functions and events;
- Coordinating the use and maintenance of school buildings and equipment;
- Managing and directing the preparation of annual budgets and financial statements;
- Producing, maintaining and monitoring reports in relation to school global budgeting and staffing;
- Managing the admission, registration, enrollment and transfer of students;
- Managing college resources and maintaining the assets register; and
- Drafting reports and making recommendations on operational issues.
To be successful in this role you will have a demonstrated knowledge of financial procedures as well as an understanding of budgetary requirements, financial recording and reporting. You will also have experience in a previous supervisory role, with the capacity to manage and work with other ES staff and to develop procedures and guidelines relating to the work area.
You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills that will enable you to provide a high level of advice and support to the principal, teachers, school community and external providers. Importantly, the successful candidate will have a commitment to professional learning and growth for both themselves and other ES staff, this will include the capacity to develop professional learning and performance plans.
