We now have a rewarding opportunity available for a Hub Practitioner to join our Orange Door team in Warrnambool on either a full-time or part-time (0.8 FTE) basis. 

How You’ll Make a Difference:

As our next Hub Practitioner, you will have the rewarding opportunity to provide vital intake, referral, and assessment services to our clients who are experiencing domestic and family violence. You’ll work closely with other partner organisations within the Orange Door network to provide an integrated response and ensure clients are receiving appropriate levels of support. 

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing all family violence referrals for women and children to the Orange Door, including the delivery of client screening, assessment, crisis responses, service planning, and targeted interventions
  • Providing clients with timely, accurate, and relevant information to ensure they are able to make informed choices
  • Liaising with relevant service providers and other stakeholders such as Police, Courts, Child Protection, community service providers and housing services

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

To be considered for this role, you’ll need to hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or a related discipline, or have a willingness to upgrade from a Diploma of Community Services (Welfare Studies) to a degree qualification. Prior experience in a similar role will be highly regarded.

To thrive in this role, you’ll have a thorough understanding of the gendered nature of violence, with the ability to apply an intersectional lens to your practice, particularly while working with victims experiencing other forms of disadvantage.

Your highly developed communication skills, warm demeanour, and empathetic nature will ensure each client accessing our services feels supported through every stage of their journey with Emma House. 

Other requirements include:

  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, particularly in a fast-paced environment
  • The ability to prioritise tasks and competing deadlines
  • An understanding of existing partnerships and networks available to victims accessing Orange Door services
  • Willingness to undergo a National Police Check and Working with Children Check prior to commencing employment
