The Opportunity

We now have the opportunity for Manufacturing Machine Operators to join our Yandina-based workshop full-time and operate our CNC Machines and edge banders! You’ll be joining an experienced team, many of whom have been with BFX for many years. You will be using CNC machines and edge banders to cut, create, detail, customise and finish furniture pieces and frames for furniture out of melamine.

Working in a collaborative and skilled team, you will use your technical experience to ensure correct inputs into our machine and confirm accurate pieces are cut and detailed, eliminating any waste from errors in our workshop

Our Machine Operator team is experienced and highly technical and they, along with the wider workshop team, are close-knit and enjoy a friendly and fun work environment, as well as team BBQs and catching up at the pub after work. 

As one of our Machine Operators, you will work Monday - Thursday from 6am - 2pm, and Friday hours are 5am - 12:45pm. You’ll enjoy a great work-life balance with afternoons and weekends free! 

Core Responsibilities:

• Program machines to cut melamine, including cutting details
• Ensure accurate machine operations even at speed
• Load machines with materials
• Collate finished pieces for other teams in our workshop

About You

As our newest Machine Operator, you will have experience in using similar machines within a manufacturing or workshop environment. We have opportunities for development and promotion, and you will be a keen learner looking to grow your career.

You will have:

• Experience working with either a CNC or edge bander machine
• Experience in programming technical machines
• Passion and pride for a job well done
• Collaborative attitude
• High-level attention to detail

Salary and Benefits 

When you join BFX as a Machine Operator, you will receive an hourly rate circa $27-$32 (negotiable dependent on experience) PLUS super, penalty rates, and overtime!
