Your Next Opportunity:

Reporting to the Integrated Health Manager, as our Dietitian, you will play a crucial role in providing public health nutrition and dietetic services to improve the nutritional status of individuals in the Sunrise Health Service Aboriginal Corporation (SHS) region. This role will be based in Katherine with frequent outreach to community.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Providing high-quality dietetics assessment and intervention for clients in a professional, confidential, and culturally safe manner
  • Ensuring integrated service delivery by coordinating and communicating with relevant stakeholders
  • Acting as the primary source of nutrition knowledge within the local team
  • Developing networks and working in partnership with stakeholders to plan and implement activities that aim to improve nutritional status in remote communities
  • Supporting the maintenance of systems such as patient referrals and statistics for efficient client management
  • Collaborating with the Integrated Health Team to develop and deliver health promotion activities

What You'll Need to Succeed:

To be considered for this role, you will hold a degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics and be eligible for Accredited Practising Dietitian status. A minimum of three years experience working as a practising dietitian is preferred. Candidates will be able to demonstrate the ability to work independently under limited direction, prioritise workload and manage time effectively whilst completing tasks.

The ideal candidate for this position will have:

  • Current unrestricted manual driver's Licence
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Non-adverse National Criminal History Check
  • Current OCHRE clearance
  • Acceptable vaccination status to work with vulnerable people in the NT
  • Have the ability to obtain a Medicare provider number
  • Demonstrated knowledge or willingness to learn about Aboriginal community control of health services
  • Ability to practice in a sensitive and culturally safe manner
  • Demonstrated knowledge of comprehensive Primary Health Care Principles
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
  • Prior experience working with indigenous communities is preferred
