About the Mining Risk and Mechanical/Electrical Risk Consultant Roles
Hawcroft Consulting International has two opportunities for full time Risk Engineering Consultants to join their expanding team.
The two roles currently available are that of Mining Risk Consultant and Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Risk Consultant.
These are pivotal roles responsible for conducting insurance risk evaluations across their domestic and international client base.
In order to achieve success in both roles, you will deliver professional risk evaluations to HCI clients through:
- Liaising with senior & operations management to identify and evaluate physical risks to mining operations;
- Quantifying property damage, machinery breakdown and business interruption risks;
- Assessing management systems and operation performance in relation to risk reduction;
- Making recommendations as to potential risk reduction improvements and advising on industry best practice; and
- Developing loss contingency and business continuity plans.
The Mining Risk Consultant
You will have previously held a Senior Operational/Management role in the Australian surface and underground mining industry. Applicants will need extensive operational experience, with a thorough understanding of a broad range of mining and engineering technical issues and an exceptional practical knowledge of the risks associated with mining and processing operations. Although highly regarded, an engineering degree is not required for this position if the candidate possesses the right experience.
The Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Risk Consultant
Having previously held a Senior Operational/Management position, you will have extensive operational experience in the Australian surface and underground mining/processing/materials handling/project and construction industry with several years at a senior management level. A degree qualification in one or more of Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial/Civil Engineering is required as is a thorough understanding of a broad range of engineering, technical, construction and project issues and a strong practical knowledge of the risks associated with this sector. Qualifications and/or experience in the design, installation and assessment of industrial fire protection systems would also be highly regarded.
Both candidates will be required to have a demonstrated competence in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and preferably Project, including the ability to provide clear and concisely written reports. You will need the willingness and availability to travel regularly within Australia and overseas.
