About the Opportunity

Due to expansion, Morgan Engineering has opportunities for trade qualified Machinists to join their team in Singleton.

As part of the lineboring division , you’ll be responsible for reclaiming bores on earthmoving equipment back to standard sizes and to the manufacture’s finish. This is an opportunity for an experienced Machinist to join a leading company that offers the best quality equipment and a dedicated professional team.

More specifically, your duties will include:

  • Reclaiming bearing bores back to STD sizes and to the manufacturer's finish;
  • Line boring, which involves rotating a cutting tool, located on a bar between bearings, while the piece is stationary;
  • Reading drawings and participating in design modifications; and
  • Maintaining your machinery in good working order.

Due to the specialised nature and wide range of this field, your work will be varied and challenging. To succeed in this role, you'll need to show a strong work history in similar companies. Morgan Engineering is looking for someone with the demonstrated ability to solve problems while unsupervised on-site, and a large knowledge of engineering and fabrication solutions. Solid time management skills are essential.

You'll need to show a strong work ethic, and the flexibility to work overtime and/or shift work when required. Working within a close knit team, you must be able to pull your weight and contribute consistently to everyone's overall performance. It is essential to have sound knowledge and commitment to OH&S policies and procedures, to comply with drug and alcohol policies and to have the willingness to learn new skills.

You'll be working with the best equipment available. All of the Morgan Engineering site units are fully equipped with Hino trucks fitted out with dual boring systems, capable of machining two bores and welding two bores simultaneously. The company also supplies Liquid Nitrogen for any freeze work required.

Morgan Engineering will provide initial orientation and product training, with ongoing training to make sure you stay on top of the latest techniques, materials and equipment. Even better, you'll enjoy working in a friendly, sociable culture where employees are looked after!

Excellent salary packages are available, circa $80,000 - $110,000 + super, negotiable based on your levels of experience and trade qualifications. Morgan Engineering may negotiate entry to mine rosters after a qualifying period, if suitable applicants are interested.
