About Your Next Opportunity

As a Water/Town Maintenance Worker, you'll be a crucial part of our Engineering department, helping to maintain and improve our water infrastructure, public spaces, and more.

With guidance from our experienced Plumbing & Water Treatment Supervisor, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Monitoring and maintaining water treatment plants to ensure a safe and reliable water supply
  • Conducting repairs and maintenance on council facilities, including parks, gardens, and buildings
  • Operating a variety of machinery and equipment in the execution of duties
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety policies and procedures
  • Assisting in the management of waste collection and disposal operations
  • Participating in the council's emergency response team as required

Following successful completion of training, you will be required to be on call one weekend per month.

What you will bring to the team

To qualify, you will ideally have some experience in water operations or a relevant field, and you must hold a current ‘C’ class driver’s license.

While not required, the following will be highly valued:

  • Construction Industry White Card
  • Certificate of Competency to operate an excavator and forklift
  • Certificate III in Water Operations
  • HR truck licence

Etheridge Shire Council will provide the necessary training to obtain the certifications mentioned above.
