About the Opportunity

MRNSW now has an exciting opportunity for three Zone Training Managers for our North, Central, and South zones of NSW. These pivotal roles focus on developing quality training materials and overseeing the delivery of training to ensure operational excellence across our units. Your primary objective will be to develop and oversee a team of skilled trainers and learning support staff.

Some of your core duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Developing and maintaining training materials and courses to enhance the skills and knowledge of MRNSW members
  • Overseeing and supporting a team of skilled trainers, assessors, and learning support staff to ensure high-quality training delivery
  • Maintaining and updating individual and organisational training records and accreditation documents, and ensuring compliance with RTO requirements
  • Coordinating with the MRNSW Training and Capability team to continuously improve training systems, processes, and resources
  • Delivering diverse training courses and assessments to members, staff, and the community, ensuring effective learning outcomes
  • Managing the supply and readiness of training resources like first aid kits and life rafts
  • Supporting community education programs and initiatives, while fostering a safe and inclusive workplace environment

About You

To qualify, you will need a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE40116 or above (i.e. education degree, diploma etc.) or enrolment in and expected completion of the qualification within the next 6 months, preferably with a focus on marine or maritime disciplines, and operational accreditation in emergency services. Practical experience in marine industry training, working in the Emergency Services sector, or teaching in the marine sector, along with volunteering experience, is highly desirable.

We are looking for the following experience and qualifications:

  • An understanding of emergency management arrangements in NSW.
  • Experience delivering dynamic training and assessment to diverse demographics
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Marine technical equipment found on commercial vessels
