About the Organisation
The Victoria Daly Shire Council became an entity on the 1st July 2008 through the amalgamation of 8 Northern Territory community councils covering an area of 168,000sqkm, an area approximately twice the size of Tasmania. Council's aim is to strengthen its communities with local people delivering shire services to their own communities with the skills and knowledge of their own culture, community and people.

About the Opportunity
Victoria Daly Shire Council has an exciting opportunity for an Aged Care Team Leader to join their team working in Kalkaringi and Daguragu, NT.
Reporting to the Shire Service Manager, the primary responsibility of this position is to coordinate the day-to-day operations of Aged Care services within the community, including an Aged Care Centre, a Respite Centre, a small team of staff and the use of company vehicles.
More specifically this will include (but will not be limited to):
- Coordinating and supervising 14 staff members and 2 company vehicles;
- Effectively managing a range of rosters including duty, meal, cleaning, and daily planning rosters;
- Managing personal and staff schedules and workloads to achieve optimal productivity;
- Strategic planning and delivery of aged care services;
- Supporting the Aged Care recipients to meet their emotional and psychosocial needs;
- Providing care support which is responsive to the specific nature of dementia;
- Strategic planning to promote community involvement in all programs; and
- Training, mentoring and supervising all Aged Care staff.
Victoria Daly Shire Council is seeking a leader with considerable people management, scheduling and resource management experience. The successful candidate will have the proven ability to coordinate a team of multi-discipline staff from a wide range of backgrounds, with skills specifically in generating and managing rosters and staff schedules. Your highly developed communication and interpersonal skills will be the key to your success as you exercise your ability to influence staff and the community to achieve strategic outcomes. If you are a confident and organised individual with a persuasive but approachable nature, then this is the role for you!
The successful candidate will hold a qualification in Nursing, or a Diploma in Aged Care Services. You will have an awareness of issues affecting Indigenous people in remote locations, and the proven ability to communicate effectively with Aboriginal people. What's more, you will demonstrate the proven ability to work under pressure and will take an original approach to challenges to find innovative solutions.
Within this diverse and rewarding role, computer literacy, a current First Aid Certificate and a current driver's licence is essential.

The Aged Care Team Leader will be rewarded with a competitive salary circa $53,421 - $57,348 + 9% superannuation. Additionally, your accommodation will be subsidised with a minimal rent contribution from you. You will also be eligible to receive relocation assistance up to $5,000!
