This requirement is consistent with the exemptions under the Australian Sex Discrimination Act, where gender can be a genuine occupational qualification, particularly for roles involving empowerment and support of a specific gender (Sections 30 to 43). Additionally, this position aligns with the Act's provisions for 'special measures,' which support affirmative action for women in employment and employment advertising as part of legitimate affirmative action programs.

About You

A minimum of postgraduate experience in providing contemporary advanced clinical services responding to domestic, family, and sexual violence will also be essential.

As our ideal candidate, you will possess excellent communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict management skills that will make you succeed in this role, as well as a strong commitment to quality improvement and patient safety that will make you a perfect culture fit.

This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact in supporting health professionals to respond effectively to domestic, family, and sexual violence while working within a supportive and dedicated team.
