About the Opportunity

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Village Manager to support our thriving community of seniors in Yeronga, QLD. This person will primarily be based in Yeronga and provide relief/assistance to other villages where required. You will also have the opportunity to learn from the current Village Manager at Yeronga, allowing you to gain valuable insights and put them into practice, ensuring a seamless transition and continued excellence in community management. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate leader to make a meaningful impact in the lives of our residents and their families.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Assist with all aspects of village operations, including day-to-day activities and long-term strategic planning.
  • Create a welcoming and comfortable environment for residents, families, and staff.
  • Serve as one of the primary contacts for residents and their families, addressing inquiries and concerns with excellent communication skills.
  • Ensure a high level of service and satisfaction for residents, promoting an exceptional living experience.
  • Report directly to the Village Manager, collaborating to achieve outstanding results and receive guidance and support.
  • Work in callaboration with the Group Facility Asset Manager to manage village assets effectively.
  • Help to lead and inspire a team, conducting orientations and inductions to foster a positive work environment.
  • Exhibit autonomy and self-motivation in achieving operational goals and maintaining high standards of performance.

About You

To be considered for this position you will need to have strong interpersonal and organisational skills. You will have a strong track record of success in managing retirement communities, with a deep understanding of the unique needs and challenges facing seniors. Your resilient nature will see you carry out your duties in an engaging and energetic manner with a focus on resident satisfaction and compliance with all procedures and policies in a busy and vibrant village. No two days will be the same, so you will need to enjoy variation and working reactively to be successful in the role. 

The ideal candidate will have prior experience managing a successful retirement village community or may be an Assistant Village Manager looking to take the next step in their career. Importantly, you will be able to demonstrate an ability to build successful relationships with residents, colleagues and other stakeholders. 

  • Strong understanding of the importance of compliance with regulations and laws
  • Experience in a similar role is highly desirable, preferably for candidates with a hospitality, customer service  or property management background
  • Excellent leadership skills adept at leading a small, dedicated team 
  • Ability to ensure correct administrative and legislative practices are followed
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, and experience managing resident's expectations

Please be aware of the following eligibility requirements;

  • Year 12 education or higher;
  • Computer literacy;
  • Current First Aid certificate with CPR, and;
  • Current Police/National criminal history check

"The Village Yeronga offers independent living, along with support and additional care if required. We can also assist residents with the transition from their apartment to nearby government-funded aged care facilities. Our aim is to ensure a seamless transition from independent living into aged care.

The Village can also provide Home Care Services in your apartment through government-subsidised home care packages and other community services. Our Homecare Coordinator is based at Yeronga one day a week, and accessible on other days, to help our residents remain confident, independent, and happy in their own homes."
